New Muslim Cool

I seen this on the Social Light Sounds page and almost fell out my chair! My brother Jay now known as Hamza will be on PBS tonight in a documentary called New Muslim Cool. I remember making a few beats for M-Team back in the day but what I  remember most is my experience working with Hamza through the YMCA. I was in a situation where I had to make moves quick, my sons couldn’t wait they needed to eat and i was going to feed them by any means. Hamza was my boss at Youth net (YMCA), we already had a prior relationship from doing shows etc throughout the local scene which made it easier for me to respect him.  In a matter of days we became very tight and he started teaching, putting me onto the world and not what we see on the news. He made me realize there was more than just selling drugs and getting money, he made me look within myself. I had no car and this man would pick me up every single day to work and build, it was deeper than rap (excuse the ross pun).  Hamza when you read this, know that you did reach a young brother for real. Allahu Akbar. -Brother Menelik Ebna la-Hakim (Av)

Hip hop is something that resides deep in our soul, the culture is beautiful its self expression in its rawest form. Growing up hip hop was more than music, it was my life. Certain songs bring back certain memories, certain memories bring back songs, its funny. HHTT has a deep love for where we grew up and always love to put on for our city. Chilling on Park Ave we noticed the art on the Leitrim Pub wall and decided to post up, seeing the art made me think of how much I still love hip hop and love being from the City of Wor. Exclusive Culture VI Wordsworth Interview

wordsworth

Another classic interview from Culture VI, this time they sit down with Brooklyn MC Wordsworth and pick his brain a bit.

I been hearing Words for quite sometime now, I remember him on the “Black Star” album and also the short lived “lyricist lounge” on MTV. It seems like finally he may be on the path he’s destined for, peep the interview.

MTV Cancels 50 Cent

Mr. Curtis Jackson (50 Cent) is having his show cancelled from MTV after about a month on air. Fith’s show “The Money and the Power” will be shelved due to lackluster ratings. Fif talked a lot of shit about his show being the best and even giving Trump a run for his money. I guess Fif is the one who got trumped in the end, I hope he don’t self destruct now.
