King James to be Crowned 2009 NBA MVP

LeBron James beat out Dwayne Wade & Kobe Bryant for a well-deserved first MVP award for his 2009 season.  At 24, LeBron is the youngest MVP candidate since Moses Malone did so in 1979.  James led the Cleveland Cavaliers to a team-record 66 wins this season and the best overall record in the NBA.  Lebron will accept the award this afternoon at his Alma-matter St. Mary’s High School in Akron Ohio.  Averaging 28.4 points, 7.6 rebounds and 7.2 assists per game, Lebron James will be the first ever Cavalier to win this prestigious award.  After sweeping their Eastern Conference rivals the Detroit Pistons in the first round, LeBron and the Cavaliers look to do more of the same against a tougher upstart Atlanta Hawks team in the second round begining  Tuesday evening.

Celtics Sweet Sixteen

The Boston Celtics have reached a 16 game winning streak yesterday with a victory over the Atlanta Hawks 88-85. The Boston Celtics have been tearing through this season showing a confidence greater than last year. I cant front I didn’t think the big three would come back with so much focus, discipline and hunger, and I’m glad to see I was wrong.

Garnett scored 10 of his 18 points in the 4th when the C’s needed it most. Atlanta’s Joe Johnson missed a late free throw that would have tied it, leaving Ray Allen to make two free throws in the final seconds to win the epic game. The Celtics lead the league and are at a franchise best 24-2.
