NBA 2K10

The piano laced intro lets you know the power of the game you are about to embark on. NBA 2K10 is one of the best basketball games I have ever played and will go down as one of the best b-ball games of all time along with Coach K and NBA Live ’96. One of the biggest reasons for this acclaim is the stellar presentation, the presentation alone is enough to purchase. If you are like me and grew up in the glorious era of the NBA on NBC then you will fall in love with NBA2K10. The commentary is amazing, Kevin and Clark will speak on past games, accolades, rivalries etc all in fluid motion not sounding automated. The biggest addition to the overall game is the new My Player mode; this mode has been done before in games, but never with such depth. I’m a true b-ball video gamer, been balling hard since Double Dribble/Jordan vs. Bird bee, so you know I had to get hands on with the game myself. My NBA career started in the summer league with the Wizards, getting used to the controls hindered my progress a little bit but that’s why I practice. When you play this mode you only control yourself, the emphasis is on being a good team player. Your overall grade is placed in the top left corner of the screen; you get graded for pretty much everything (box out, make an assist, alley, tight d, etc). I had to throw out all I previously knew about b-ball games and learn again, I had to learn that I am part of a team and not the team. After 6 games in the summer league I was cut and sent to the D-League, I couldn’t believe it! My SG wasn’t good enough so I packed up for LA and learned the importance of team ball. 8 games with LA’s D-League team and Utah called me up, the 2K Insider (a lil dude who gives you advice, NBA stories and critiques your game) told me I was signed to a 10 day contract so I knew I had to play at my highest level. My first NBA game I was in awe, all the people, the sound, and the TV cameras! Understand, when you play in the D-League you don’t get all that good stuff, you in small arenas with no commentary, just the squeaks and moans of 2nd hand NBA players. 10 days went by and Utah decided to offer me a 1yr deal and I took it. Never before I have I created a player in a video game and felt such a connection, hats off 2K fo real. HHTT APPROVED.  COP THAT NBA2K10 NOW!Don\’t Sweat the Technique – Eric B. & Rakim

Nytmare Album Release Party

Once again my apologies on getting this footage up so late.  After a long wait ( 10 years to be exact ) Nytmare aka Mr. Nocturn aka Fahad the Jihadist aka The Lakeside Strangler released his long awaited full length debut entitled Insomniaddict

For those of you that don’t know Nytmare is a staple in the Worcester hip hop scene  and has been performing since the late nineties.  He has shared the stage with homegrown favorites that have since faded away, I mention that only to let you know that Nytmare has been in the scene and putting in work for Worcity hip hop for a minute.  I remember the first time hearing Ashes to Ashes over at Brother Menelik’s house circa 1999 and thinking to myself (respectively) “Who the fuck is this nigga ???“  It would be a few months before  I met him in person. He had a dark sounding voice on the edge of being gritty with a rapid spitting yet clear delivery, the style Nytmare has is like no other in the City and his work ethic along with perfectionist approach to not only his music but his performance and stage presence is unmatched.

At his album release party at the Lucky Dog Music Hall on Green St. in Worcester Ma.a copy of Insomniaddict was handed out to every person that came through the door.  The crowd was entertained with a mash up of musical genres.  Kinda Dusty’s and All Elements Crew member Spit Supreme performed as well as H2T2 Productionz group  Cocaine Robots and Tone Velez.  Also on the bill were Shane Hall & Ticklebomb Orchestra and Evince Ethos with Nytmare taking the stage last. It was definitely a good night for not only local hip hop but for local music & artists period.  Good looks Nytmare on dropping a Gem of an album, it was definitely worth the wait. http://nytmaremusic.com/

Dirtnap Entertainment: Club Oasis 9/29/09

I have yet another show put on by our boys over at DirtNap Entertainment. These dudes are really doing a good job booking live shows and mixing different types of hip hop together. This show took place at Club Oasis on 9/25/09 and had groups come from as far as Maine (Sinastar Records) and also from Rhode Island, Boston, New Hampshire, Southbridge, and of course Worcester. I got to see different styles of hip hop that night, and it made me realize that hip hop is different to everybody.  It was a live energy in the building that night and some of the memorable moments was WayneDaPayne onstage freestyling , Hytown Records spitting over a Rick James sample ( give me the drugs/ give give me the drugs) shit came to life and really had everyone dancing, Deep N Demi climbing onto the small wall to close their set, Mad Maxxx putting his face right into the camera, Nine Millz shouting HulkHate out for the crowd, my boy George randomly going on stage during different people’s performances, and of course me fucking with Prophecy telling him I was too tipsy to perform hahahhahah. Big shot out to all the artist that performed that night and especially DirtNap Entertainment for allowing us full access and of course time to perform. For information on any of these artists please send us an email.  – T

Divided We Fall

Worcester is a very unique city, in the heart of New England we get a bit of everything. For some reason though Hip Hop in the city has failed to flourish like big brother Boston but many of us know the reason for this. Long as I have lived in this city I always had the feeling many people don’t want to be from here. For one reason or another people in Worcester love to say they from another city (mostly Boston or New York). Within the city itself pride is vacant, we do have hip hop but its spread. An example of this spread is how there are many hip hop groups and people who do music but stay to in their own little circles, as if to mix with other hip hop artists in the city might contaminate them or someshit. In other cities I have visited it’s not like that, for instance when I was in Boston I noticed a lot of pride for and within the city. Driving through downtown I have seen Boston hats, local artist’s posters and promotion everywhere. Even deeper, when chilling in the community I seen the truth, the truth was love, love for the city. Living in Worcester you don’t see that, go to a hip hop show in Worcester and you will see a small crowd of people standing around. I love Worcester I grew up in Mainsouth, I rented Nintendo games from Main St Video, rode the RTA, stole from Ames, copped the penny’s from the fashion outlets, met T at the platform, played ball with V (RIP) in Crystal Park etc. I have so many memories and I am proud of where I’m from, HHTT in 2010 will bring Worcester to the next level, mark my words bee, we are the machine.

HHTT united we stand.
