Spring Again – Biz Markie

What a nice weekend, up here in Worcester MA temperatures almost reached 80 degrees.  Although it’s since cooled off it still has me feeling like it’s Spring Again, this Biz joint seems to escape me every year untill the weather warms up and the girls come out.  Biz Markie released Spring Again on his 1989 album The Biz Never Sleeps which to this day is the Biz’s biggest selling album due to the smash success of Just a Friend, and songs like Spring Again.Spring Again – Biz Markie

It’s Spring Again – Biz Markie

Everybody knows that nobody beats the Biz, today was a beautiful spring day up here in M.A. and I thought I should honor Biz Mark’s spring classic, It’s Spring Again.  Everytime I hear this record I crack up, don’t even get me started with the video either.  (biz dresses up like Rumplestiltskin)Biz live is always a treat, I saw him open up for De la Soul at the Palladium (worcester)  back in 2001 and Biz ate an entire hot dog with the bun in one giant bite!  Dude could give Joey Chestnutt and Kobayashi a run for their money if he wanted to I’m sure.  I remember Biz singing this Elton John classic on an old Beastie Boys compilation album I had when I was younger.  The video below is Biz performing his  awesome rendition of Bennie and the Jets on the Chris Rock show in the late 90’s.

BDK Trailer

It has recently been brought to my attention that the folks from Lyricist Lounge will be releasing a documentary about the Hip-Hop Icon Big Daddy Kane entitled simply BDK.  Below is the trailer, expect it to be released by the summer.

The video below was taken from  the always creative Prince Paul and Kane’s 1999 collaboration on the A Prince Among Thieves album entitled Macula’s Theory.  “If you got 36 prostitutes and 30 cents in your pocket, Whatchu Got?  Proof that Hoes come a dime a dozen baby”
