Anita Hill vs Clarence Thomas (1991)

“BLACK ON BLACK CRIME AT THE HIGHEST LEVEL”

In october of 1991 just before being officially sworn in to the supreme court after being nominated by George H. W. Bush, Clarence Thomas was accused of sexual harassment by Ms. Anita hill. As one comedian commented on the situation, the comment stuck with me forever “black on black crime at the highest level”.

Clarence was accused placing pubic hairs on her cans of coke and making unwelcome advances towards her. Now im not to sure about the pubic hair thing, but I am willing to bet money that Mr. Thomas saw a plump rump… and couldn’t help himself. I mean after all in politics you don’t really get to see a lot of physical attributes, because if you did he’d look a lot more happy than this…

Recently Anita was in the news again but this time it was for Virginia Thomas, the wife of Clarence. Ms Hill allegedly received a voicemail from Mrs. Thomas asking her to apologize for the accusations brought upon her husband.

Mr. and Mrs. Thomas…making polotics interesting since 1991…

We’re All a Lil Bit Bias…

len-bias

R.I.P. LENNY BIAS  1963-1986

I recently viewed espn’s 30 for 30 a series that highlights sports greats behind the scenes and away from all the glitz and glamour. The most recent installment featured the late Len Bias. For those of you youngins who are unaware of who exactly Len bias is, I have compiled a few videos for you to get a faint idea of the impact that Len’s life (and death) had on sports… period. LenBias2-1

Physically gifted, and humble, Len was often categorized as a future great of the NBA with the likes of Michael Jordan and Magic Johnson. Len’s life was cut short due to his recreational drug use and denied himself the opportunity to ever be known as one of the elite. Sadly it leaves the burning question in my mind “What if….” “what if he got to shine with rob parish and larry bird?” “How good could he have really been?”…. we’ll never know.

Family 1st Show (Sept 17th)

family1st

Sorry this is a little late but I have a month worth of footage that im trying to run through. Family First Entertainment had a show on September 17th @ Tammany Hall in Worcester Ma. They had a line up of  performers that definitely did Worcester hip hop proud. I was actually reminded of the hip hop scene here in the mid and late nineties back when this boricua cat named  J.R. was putting everyone on and giving them a chance to shine. The love was felt that night and I actually felt like everyone was together, the only other cats in the city that I know of that are showing love to local performers are Social Light Sounds ( SocialLightSounds.com ) and DirtNap Entertainment ( Which will be in a upcoming post ) . Stacks Jackson led the way with the Family First Roster halfway through the show and definitely handled their business. HHTT Productions recording artist Prophecy was also on the bill and performed his clever “Alphabet of Girls”, African Dynasty was in the building and performed a variety of songs and definitely entertained the crowd with their high energy stage presence. Doberman Squad laid down some smooth R&B and added a little grit to it when the beautiful songstress was joined by labelmate CHARD. Matt Bastardo took the stage and did well with a presence that most would mistake with arrogance, but I recognize it as him making a stand for Hip Hop music.I’m interested in what else Family First has to offer and HHTT will definitely keep an eye out for them in the near future, shot out to the father and founder of Family First Kqauz for allowing HHTT full access to the event. Good look big homie HHTT APPROVED

Raekwon or Jay-Z

Only-Built-4-Cuban-Linx-II-raekwon-2

jay-z_blueprint3_cover-400x400

Ok here we go. recently Jay and Rae released 2 long awaited albums Jay-z with The Blueprint 3 and Raekwon with Only Built for Cuban Links pt.II. Now every since their release, we here at HHTT have had an ongoing discussion about these two albums. it seems that whenever we discuss hip hop or lyricists this topic finds its way into the mix. Often this arguement can go on for long periods of time especially when BROTHER MENELIK gets goin against socialite sounds/nite people’s very own YOHON DI. Which, by the way, you can catch this discussion and many more live on the radio Friday nights from 10pm-12am on 91.3 fm Selective Hearing or stream it live from your computer at WWW.WCUW.ORG just click listen now. So im taking it upon myself to get you involved. Please let us know what you think, MENELIK who is very partial to the gritty drug rap, which no one does better than RAEKWON

raekwon1

and YOHON is partial to jay-z for his track record and ability to move the crowd….So which album is better? Is RAE better cuz he kept it hood and brought back that 95 feel (the golden era of hip hop) wit a sick ass flo? Or is Jay-Z better cuz he has remained consistant over the last 10/13 years and can MC (move the crowd) at a moments notice?
