Clubber Lang (Prediction of Pain)

clubber
Today I was thinking of my father’s favorite movie characters and Clubber Lang struck me again. I did a post a while back but this time I wanted to bring proper light to the nigger himself “Clubber Lang” . Clubber’s role was simple in Rocky III, be a nigger. He was dark, big, strong, aggressive, smooth shit talker and straight militant, standard nigger attributes.  I love when he called Rocky out for ducking him, he even told his woman to come to his apartment to show her a real man! Clubber don’t jus punk Rocky, he punk Mick and then turns his attention to Apollo, daring him to step against. Clubber defeated Rocky with ruthless aggression to obtain the title, and the same ruthless aggression would eventually come back to destroy him. In my opinion this is the pinnacle for Mr. T, this is before america fully embraced the mohawked negro.Flashback post click here http://hulkhatetimetravel.com/2008/09/29/clubber-lang/

Mike Tyson Documentary Trailer

Really don’t need much of an introduction, this is the trailer for that documentary about Mike Tyson which made its debut at the Cannes film festival.

Friday the 13th Part VIII

In 1989 Jason Voorhees, tired of Camp Crystal Lake,  decided to head to NYC in the 8th installment of the Friday The 13th series, Jason Takes Manhattan.  Although this film is largely considered to be one of the worst from the series I see it differently and have to place it in my top 5 dead or alive Jason flicks.

Jason Voorhees almost met his match in the clip below, it’s taken towards the end of the movie, and features Julius & Jason’s epic rooftop battle.  However unfortunately (for Julius’ sake) ends in Jason connecting with a rugged right upper cut that would  even make Mike Tyson proud.     “Take your best shot, Motherfucker”

Happy Friday the 13th!!! 13 backwards is 31 Happy Halloween!!!

Mike Tyson – The Most Ruthless

The Boxing world was not ready for Mike Tyson when he emerged on the professional scene back in the late 80’s.  In 1986 at the age of 20, Tyson won the WBC Heavyweight Championship becoming the youngest heavyweight champion in history.  The thing I most like about Tyson besides his ridiculous early round knockouts was that he was a true student to boxing history thanks in part to his training with the legendary Cus D’Amato. Cus, Teddy Atlas, and Kevin Rooney helped Mike from an early age develop and perfect his style which was a constant fluid motion, it consisted of  weaving away from his opponents punches then coming in close to deliver his own trademark hooks followed by his devastating right uppercut.  To me Iron Mike was the most entertaining fighter to watch, which in turn makes him the Greatest in my opinion.  Watch Mike train and knock suckas out below, with music courtesy of Terminator and Requiem For a Dream.

The knowledge Tyson drops in this post-fight interview is the illest shit I’ve ever heard, and gives me chills real talk.  “I was gonna rip his heart out, I’m the best ever.  I’m the most brutal and most vicious and most ruthless champion theres ever been theres noone can stop me. Lennox is a conqueror? No. I’m Alexander, he’s no Alexander. I’m the best ever. There’s never been anybody as ruthless. I’m Sonny Liston. I’m Jack Dempsey, there’s no one like me.  I’m from their cloth. There’s no one that can match me. My style is impetuous. My defense is impregnable, and I’m just ferocious. I want your heart. I want to eat his children. Praise be to Allah!”    and that kiddies is how you end an interview…

ESPN Sportscentury Montage

In the year 2000 ESPN collected all the greatest moments in sports history and made a video, Chad put me on and it changed me forever. The song in the background is Aerosmith – “Dream On”, every time I hear this it send chills down my spine.

When I watch this I remember.

“Save me, Joe Louis. Save me.”

joelouis2save me joe

Some people look at Joe Louis as a “Uncle Tom”, I totally disagree! He was not rude, abrasive and ultra black like Jack Johnson, Joe Louis was more powerful as a symbol to not just blacks but all races. Joe held the title for over 11 years more than any one before him, at a time when blacks felt weak Joe made us feel strong. Peep this,

“More than twenty-five years ago, one of the southern states adopted a new method of capital punishment. Poison gas supplanted the gallows. In its earliest stages, a microphone was placed inside the sealed death chamber so that scientific observers might hear the words of the dying prisoner to judge how the human reacted in this novel situation.

The first victim was a young Negro. As the pellet dropped into the container, and the gas curled upward, through the microphone came these words: “Save me, Joe Louis. Save me, Joe Louis. Save me, Joe Louis…”

That excerpt is from the book “Why We Can’t Wait” by Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

Joe Louis was more than a boxer to some, he was Hope.
