The Smack Down Bboy Competition in Allston, Ma

First off I gotta big up T.R.U. member Reez for bringing me to the event and making sure I got the best footage I can.  I’ve never been to an event like this before and have never seen so much love between people in hip hop that were competing against each other.  Being at this event I realized the difference between rap and Bboying and how commercialized the emceeing part of hip hop is and how it has been exploited by the companies that control its distribution.  Witnessing this event (both the cyphers and battles) showed me first hand that even though dancing has had its share in the limelight , for the most part it is just as pure as when it began.  Big Shot Out to the Floor Lords for sponsoring the event as well as the other brothers involved in putting the jam together, I look forward to being at many more.

T.R.U. Crew Practice Session

We recently had the opportunity to get up with our brothers from T.R.U. Crew ( Top Rock United Crew ) and get some footage of them practicing. I’ve known these cats from way back in the day ( 96-97 ).And these dudes been on they grind the last few years , everytime I see them perform I see more and more improvements as well as witness the human body move in ways I never thought possible. Funny thing about all this , is that they do this stuff EASY , my boy Backspace had a twisted knee and was all over the place and Reez was just messing around with the headspins , Backspace told me they were his “shitty headspins” these dudes really leave me speechless. Big shot out to the rest of the members Maximus, Lace, Rek and Fuse. For more info on T.R.U. Crew visit Myspace.com/TopRockUnit
