Black and Blue – Tracy Morgan

Tracy Morgan’s new HBO standup special Black and Blue is set to air this Saturday (11-13) at 10 p.m.  The special was taped in September at the Apollo Theater in Harlem.  In the meantime check out a recent appearance Tracy did on the Late Show with David Letterman to promote his upcoming special.

Curb Your Enthusiasm Season 8 (Behind The Scenes)

Michael J. Fox, Ricky Gervais, Ana Gasteyer, Rosie O’Donnel will all join Larry David and the rest of the usual suspects for the 8th Season of Curb Your Enthusiasm coming to HBO in 2011.  After bringing the Seinfeld cast together for a reunion in the 7th season of Curb, the only thing left for the show was to transplant it to New York from L.A. which is just what they did, take a behind the scenes look below.

If God Is Willing and Da Creek Don’t Rise – Spike Lee

If God is Willing and Da Creek Don’t Rise is the follow up to Spike Lee’s 2006 documentary When The Levee’s Broke which premiers on HBO this week.  Spike Lee gives us a rarely seen look into the “lingering effects of Hurricane Katrina in New Orleans and the impact of recent events like the Superbowl & the BP oil spill.”


HBO’s Treme season premier is tonight (4-11-2010), created by David Simon & Eric Overmyer (The Wire)  Treme takes place 3 months after Hurricane Katrina decimated New Orleans and focuses on the residents coming back to the neighborhood and the rebuilding effort.  The show will feature some familiar faces to Simon’s previous works such as Khandi Alexander (The Corner) Wendell Pierce & Clarke Peters (The Wire) as well as new actors such as Steve Zahn & John Goodman plus a slew of local New Orleanian actors.  Enjoy the trailers and don’t forget to tune in.

Boardwalk Empire (Trailer)

We all know no one can hold a candle to HBO programming, the network is responsible for such shows as The Wire, Curb Your Enthusiasm, Entourage & The Sopranos.  This Fall, Boardwalk Empire will debut on HBO.  The show will be based on the book The Birth, High Times, and Corruption of Atlantic City by Nelson Johnson.  The book will be adapted by screenwriter and producer (former writer & director of The Sopranos) Terrence Winter.  Furthermore, the pilot episode was directed by Martin Scorcese who will be heavily involved in the project throughout.  New faces to HBO drama Michael Pitt & Kelly MacDonald will join forces with some familiar ones in Steve Buscemi (Tony Blundetto The Sopranos) & Michael K. Williams (Omar from the Wire).  Fall is a whole summer away but at least we have Boardwalk Empire to look forward to, enjoy the trailer.

How To Make It In America

Although I have only seen the pilot episode, HBO looks like they scored again with How To Make It in America premiering tonight at 10 PM on HBO.  The show stars Byran Greenberg (Ben), Victor Rasuk (Cam), Kid Cudi (Domingo)& Luis Guzman (Rene) The show is pretty much Entourage in New York with Mark Wahlberg and his production crew holding down the new series.

“Follows two enterprising twentysomethings hustling their way through New York City’s fashion scene, determined to achieve their version of the American Dream. Trying to make a name for themselves in the city’s competitive fashion scene, Ben Epstein and his friend and business partner Cam Calderon use their street knowledge and connections to make their way up. With the help of their well-connected friend Domingo and Cam’s cousin Rene, who was ambitions of his own — a new energy drink called Rasta-Monsta — the burgeoning entrepreneurs set out to make it big.”
