Brother Menelik & Yohon DI (Build)

agreemen suggestword up

A couple weeks back I sat down with Yohon DI of Nite People and 91.3’s Selective Hearing. I have been meaning to sit down with Yohon for quite sometime now but we both have hectic schedules, luckily we finally got time to build. Yohon is a very complex individual who has a genuine love for music. From our talk I got the feeling of a person who is completely driven by music, someone who operates on the scale of self satisfaction and artistic integrity. In this day it is hard to find many artists with such purist beliefs but refreshing when you do. It was strange cause as I was asking him questions he fired similar ones right back at me! The interview transitioned into a genuine conversation, which I felt was even better because we both got to learn more about each other and build. Donnie Darko

dond011donniedarko_wideweb__470x2990For a while people have been sending emails and txt asking me about the film Donnie Darko. In the early days of HHTT we use to post heavily on the subject time travel, we may have gotten away from it a little but we still love all things time travel (John Titor, whats up bee!) A couple of weeks ago I decided to sit down and watch the film Donnie Darko and I have to say it was an experience unparalleled. Donnie Darko is a physiological thriller about a troubled kid set in the late 1980’s. Donnie ends up meeting a 6 foot bunny named Frank who tells him in 28 days, 6 hours, 42 minutes and 12 seconds, the world will end. From that point the movie picks up rapidly, I’m not going to let too much info out because this is a film that is needed to be seen fo real. Donnie Darko deals with many strong themes but still keeps a humorous balance. One of my favorite parts is when Donnie is going to school, he hops off the back of the bus with his boys and the song “Head Over Heels” by Tears for Fears comes on , the way the song matches the visuals is flawless. The movie closes with a song that stays with me to this day called “Mad World”, The song just fits perfectly, from the chilling piano to the abstract vocals it brings the ending of this movie together perfectly. The film truly captures the 80’s well from music to fashion and also deals heavily with the rules of time travel. Donnie Darko is a film I will never forget, and is easily in my top 3 of all time.

This is the Tears for fears joint to Donnie Darko, pure sickness. And of course the somber classic mad world

Tarzan Boy – Baltimora

I started bringing this jam back a few years ago, and yes, it’s still Hot.  What reminded me of this forgotten classic was the 3rd Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie (the one where they go back to 13th century Japan in the time of the samurai) Tarzan Boy was playing on the jukebox of some pizza spot that the Samurai’s and Casey Jones were posted up in.  Anyways check the video & the classic Cool mint Listerine commercial from 93 which featured Baltimora’s timeless masterpiece Tarzan Boy.

Terminator Salvation NEW Trailer

The machines have officially risen after Judgement Day, the new Terminator film is set for release on may 22 2009.  The film is set in post-apocalyptic 2018,  it focuses around the war between man and terminators.  John Connor is played by Christian Bale, who is leading the resistance against skynet and their machine army.  Hopefully Bale will reignite the excitment of the Terminator series much like he did with Batman, peep the trailer below    The End Begins

SPACE ELEVATOR

This shit is sick how could I not write on this!  Japan Space Elevator Assoc (JESA) is working on an elevator that would start on earth and extend to a space docking station, allowing humans and other things to be transported through. A carbon nanotube would be used to wire the elevator lift and they predict to begin construction around 2030 but it might be later. Can you imagine hopping in a high-powered elevator and actually being beyond the night sky? The future is real son, HOVERBOARDS DON’T FLOAT ON WATER UNLESS YOU GOT POWER!!!!

And yes this is real talk.

Nice to meats you.
