Brainstorm (Confidence Remix) – Lord Finesse Feat. O.C. & KRS-One

Now this is what the fuck I’m talking about, Confidence is dropping a mixtape of mid-90’s remixes, starting with this remix to Lord Finesse’s Brainstorm featuring O.C. & KRS-One off of Finesse’s 97 classic The Awakening.

Keep It Going – A.G. & O.C.

A.G. & O.C. carrying on D.I.T.C. traditions on this one, Keep It Going produced by E Blaze is off of their new collaborative album Oasis in stores  now.

Oasis – AG & OC

Oasis by D.I.T.C. representatives AG & OC  produced by Statik Selektah is the title song to their new album due out November 24th on Nature Sounds.  Production on the album will be handled primarily by Lord Finesse, Show & E Blaze. The Oasis – AG & OC

Street Struck – The Big L Story

About time someone put together something like this,  Street Struck: The Big L Story will hopefully be available real soon.  Although this is only the trailer they briefly discuss one of my personal favorite Big L songs Devil’s Son, Showbiz had me rolling when he tells the story of shopping this record to Sony.Devils Son – Big L

Keep It Flowing – Lord Finesse & DJ Mike Smooth feat. AG

This shit right here is Hip-Hop at it’s finest about 20 years old now Lord Finesse & DJ Mike Smooth’s Funky Technician dropped in 1990.  AG & Finesse take turns dropping countless quotables while flowing effortlessly over the DJ Premier produced  Keep It Flowing, who along with Diamond D, Showbiz and DJ Mike Smooth handled production on the classic Funky Technician album.

Jealous Ones Still Envy 2 – Fat Joe

Jealous Ones Still Envy 2 will be Fat Joe’s 9th solo album (wow) and is set for a May 19th release date.  J.O.S.E. 2 will feature collaborations with Lil Wayne, Lil Kim, Ron Browz, Akon, T-Pain, Fabolous and Raekwon.  Now all we need is for Joey to hook up with Finesse and Diamond D for a D.I.T.C. reunion album.

Joey Crack hooks up with Dj Infamous for the single Hey Joe, borrowing the title and sample from the classic Jimi Hendrix song.  I was always wondering when someone would flip Hey Joe, one of Jimi’s best/gangsta records and it only makes sense that it was Fat Joe.

Party Arty R.I.P.

South Bronx native Party Arty (D.I.T.C. + Ghetto Dwellas) passed away today (12/4/08) from undisclosed health complications.  Party Arty always had one of the grimiest/gruffiest/dirtiest voice in the game, he was featured on many of Show & AG’s albums through the 90’s, Big L’s first joint on the track “Da Graveyard” which also featured Hova, Finesse and L, and on all of the D.I.T.C. (Diggin In The Crates) records throughout the years.  Below is a truly classic two part video he released along with his Ghetto Dwella partner D-Flow, but for real HipHop has lost a true talent with his passing.

Arty shines on the brutally honest A Look at My Life which was released a few years back by Showbiz on the D.I.T.C. compilation album Street Talk
