Roy Jones Jr.  (54-6, 40 KOs) and Bernard Hopkins (50-5-1, 32 KOs) will square off in the ring April 3 at the Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas nearly 20 years after Roy Jones Jr. won a close decision over Bernard Hopkins.  Hopkins coming off a couple victories, an impressive win over the talented Kelly Pavlik and a decision against Enrique Ornelas.  Jones Jr. won by TKO over Jeff Lacy but in his last bout Roy was knocked out in the first round by Danny Green.

“A rematch with Roy has been in the back of my mind for a long time and it’s finally going to happen. I have accomplished a lot in my career since that night in Washington, in 1993, and I am going to end this thing between me and Roy once and for all.” – Hopkins

Roy Jones Jr. takes on Joe Calzaghe

Man oh Man, November 8th at Madison Square Garden could possibly be the greatest fight of the new millenium.  Roy Jones Jr. (52-4 38KO’s) will take on Joe Calzaghe (45-0 32KO’s) this fight should be a historic matchup between the two great fighters.  A newly revived Roy Jones Jr. defeated Felix Trinidad in January but will certainly have his hands full against the undefeated champion Joe Calzaghe who is coming off a few very impressive victories himself over the likes of Bernard Hopkins, Jeff Lacy, Peter Manfredo and Mikkel Kessler.  The fight is set at light-heavyweight and is sure to be an entertaining bout between the two, Joe Calzaghe trying to further cement his legacy and Roy Jones Jr. trying to win his spot back.  Below is a preview for the show 24/7 on HBO which gives an excellent preview of their Nov. 8th showdown if you have HBO, definately peep this show I highly reccomend it.
