HHTT GAMES (Super Mario Wii)

I’m a big video game junkie and recently picked up Super Mario Bros for the Nintendo WII. I have to say it is a definite must have for any gamer. I have fond memories of when I first played the original version of this game and laid my eyes on a actual NES ( Nintendo Entertainment System ). My father gave it to me as a christmas gift when it was originally released , too bad he didn’t know that he created a gaming monster at such an early age. He went all out and bought me the NES package that came with 3 games on one cartridge ( Mario Bros , Duck Hunt , and World Class Track Meet ) and had the gun and running mat , at the time 3 games on one cartridge was a technological feat and none of the kids in the neighborhood had that shit. I was a superstar in the hood until my boy next door got Mike Tyson’s Punch Out before I did. The Mario Bros have provided me with endless hours of entertainment and sleepless nights ( trying to perfect that hundred lives trick with the turtle shell on the steps cheat ). The new Super Mario Bros for the WII will bring back memories to those that have been playing the franchise since the original, it also adds some of the levels and characters from Super Mario World.  The WII implemented some cool motion sensor moves that require certain controller movements in order to advance during gameplay, that paired with new power ups and levels keep the game challenging but enjoyable. In a nut shell or in this case a turtle shell it’s a new game for those new to gaming but a slightly familiar game that will always be fun to those who just love Mario and occasionally crazy legged Luigi.

The Moody Blues – Nights in White Satin

After my parents would argue my pops would always lock himself away, he lived a very hard life. This man was paramount to me, his movements, his focus, these things are instilled deep within me now. He would lite up his joint, twist the cap off his High Life and play his records. Not many people knew how deeply my father loved music, he was a very cultured man. The Moody Blues was a group he was very fond of, especially the song  Nights in White Satin.  It’s funny how a song can bring back certain memories vividly, this song for me makes me think of my father, my father rolling up, my father trying to ease the pain.
