Oh beautiful brother, for real Curtis you was a genius b and today I want to show tribute. Curtis by far is one of my favorite artists of all time, his music speaks to me in a way that is not only tangible but surreal. I’m not going to get into the psychosis of the shit but he created some timeless music and I’m glad i was able to find it when i needed it most b. This song right here is crazy, the lyrics i could identify with so much and i was a kid growing up in the 80’s b! Painful rip/ In my upper hip/ i guess it’s time/ to take another trip/

walking down the street, watching la-dies, go by watching you
Watching You was one Slave’s biggest hits, taken from the groups 1980 album Stone Jam. With the weather in the Northeast warming up, Watching You just makes too much sense to me.
|Sorry this is a little late but I have a month worth of footage that im trying to run through. Family First Entertainment had a show on September 17th @ Tammany Hall in Worcester Ma. They had a line up of performers that definitely did Worcester hip hop proud. I was actually reminded of the hip hop scene here in the mid and late nineties back when this boricua cat named J.R. was putting everyone on and giving them a chance to shine. The love was felt that night and I actually felt like everyone was together, the only other cats in the city that I know of that are showing love to local performers are Social Light Sounds ( SocialLightSounds.com ) and DirtNap Entertainment ( Which will be in a upcoming post ) . Stacks Jackson led the way with the Family First Roster halfway through the show and definitely handled their business. HHTT Productions recording artist Prophecy was also on the bill and performed his clever “Alphabet of Girls”, African Dynasty was in the building and performed a variety of songs and definitely entertained the crowd with their high energy stage presence. Doberman Squad laid down some smooth R&B and added a little grit to it when the beautiful songstress was joined by labelmate CHARD. Matt Bastardo took the stage and did well with a presence that most would mistake with arrogance, but I recognize it as him making a stand for Hip Hop music.I’m interested in what else Family First has to offer and HHTT will definitely keep an eye out for them in the near future, shot out to the father and founder of Family First Kqauz for allowing HHTT full access to the event. Good look big homie HHTT APPROVED|

After my parents would argue my pops would always lock himself away, he lived a very hard life. This man was paramount to me, his movements, his focus, these things are instilled deep within me now. He would lite up his joint, twist the cap off his High Life and play his records. Not many people knew how deeply my father loved music, he was a very cultured man. The Moody Blues was a group he was very fond of, especially the song Nights in White Satin. It’s funny how a song can bring back certain memories vividly, this song for me makes me think of my father, my father rolling up, my father trying to ease the pain.

Here’s another one of my favorites from my all time biggest crush janet jackson. I like to file this under my dutch/backwoods classics bacause when its time to sit back and relax theres nothin more relaxin than janet tellin me that its alright with her…enjoy
I’m really in that kind of mood today so here is a dutch/backwoods classic I had to introduce. Now I’ve been a fan of citizen cope for a few years now and the one thing that I can say mostly describes this music, is soul. This song takes R&B back to its roots with true rhythm and blues. Citizen cope has an original and very soulful sound that is very pleasing to listen to at any time of the day but even more so when you’ve got time to relax and inhale those indulgent scents and aromas of high quality greenery’s…relax and enjoy.
this vid is set to the visuals of the movie “The Fountain”
another one of my favorites simple and soulful this is “Let the drummer kick”
