2011 Sprite Slam Dunk Contest – 2011 NBA All-Star Game

Hands down one of the best all-around Dunk contests I’ve seen in years, contestants included Serge Ibaka, Javal McGee, Blake Griffin & DeMar DeRozan.

Oklahoma City Thunder’s Serge Ibaka took off from behind the free throw line (Dr.J) and even bit a toy off the rim for a distressed likkle youth.

Defending dunk-champion DeMar DeRozan was robbed in my opinion, no way he should have missed the final round, but that just goes to show the level of competition at this years dunk contest.  Teamed with his coach Darryl Chocolate Thunder Dawkins he named his dunks, check out the East Bay Funk Remix & The Show Stopper below.

The 7’0 Javal McGee had somewhat of a coming out party dunking 3 balls at once and also showing his long reach when he dunked two balls in two separate hoops simultaneously.

Blake Griffin, definitely the favorite coming in to the contest, showed and proved that he belongs on the dunk-throne.  Teamed with teammate Baron Davis, Blake completed a barrage of dunks to win the competition including this off the backboard monsterpiece.

Serious Masturbation Material – Tracy Morgan on Sarah Palin

TNT has since apologized for the incident lol.

King James to be Crowned 2009 NBA MVP

LeBron James beat out Dwayne Wade & Kobe Bryant for a well-deserved first MVP award for his 2009 season.  At 24, LeBron is the youngest MVP candidate since Moses Malone did so in 1979.  James led the Cleveland Cavaliers to a team-record 66 wins this season and the best overall record in the NBA.  Lebron will accept the award this afternoon at his Alma-matter St. Mary’s High School in Akron Ohio.  Averaging 28.4 points, 7.6 rebounds and 7.2 assists per game, Lebron James will be the first ever Cavalier to win this prestigious award.  After sweeping their Eastern Conference rivals the Detroit Pistons in the first round, LeBron and the Cavaliers look to do more of the same against a tougher upstart Atlanta Hawks team in the second round begining  Tuesday evening.

Eddie Jordan Fired As Head Coach Of Wizards

nba_dailydime_268

Eddie Jordan was fired as head coach of the Washington Wizards today after beginning the season 1-10. The last blow had to be the loss Saturday to the shorthanded Knicks 122-117. I cant really say much, Eddie is a decent coach but never really done enough to show me he’s the truth. Ed Tapscott director of player development for the Wizards will replace Jordan, hopefully now they can strive for win #2 of the 09-10 NBA Season.

Celtics Hang Banner Then Hang Cavs 90 – 85 (Oct 28th)

Tonight displayed a great game of two Eastern Conference powerhouses the Boston Celtics and the Cleveland Cavs. We all know that Cleveland is still bitter about Boston cutting there season short last year in the playoff thriller between Paul and Lebron in game 7. Tonight the Cavs came out strong Lebron took a early role taking control as usual ending the half 50-43. The 2nd half Boston took fire with Paul leading full assault, I have to say the best moment in the game was when Leon Powe dunked over Delonte West, It was epic beyond belief! Kevin and Ray struggled combining for only 18 points but Tony Allen’s 11 and Leon Powe’s 13 points off the bench helped keep the pace. There were some akward moments, like when I seen Big Baby Glen Davis shooting perimeter shots, why in the hell is he taking those shots? The end score came down Celtics 90 Cavs 85, Lebron scroed 22 point and 6 assists but wasn’t enough to overcome Paul Pierce’s 27 points. Get a ring, get a win not a bad way to end a night at all.

NBA 2K9

I have been playing basketball games since I can remember. I came up loving EA Sports and the NBA Live Series until I discovered NBA 2K on the Sega Dreamcast and switched over. NBA 2K9 keeps the tradition alive of a “true basketball” game, I’m not a big online cat im more about building my franchise. If you wanna run and gun and play with friends and not take shit too serious go pick up live, if you about ya biz and want an authentic sports title get 2K. Presentation to me is a must and to this day the best presentation I seen in a game is from 2K in “ESPN NFL 2K5”. NBA 2K9 does a damn good job keeping close though, at the end of every quarter you are treated to highlights of the top moments in the prior quarter. The music during these highlights is nothing short of epic sometimes I forget and think im watching TNT! That’s how captivating it is! The game play is stellar, the shot stick has been redefined and the overall feel is fluid. The game is seamless, meaning that you rarely have to press start to do shit, you can make subs, timeouts and etc all on the fly. Association 2.0 is where it’s at; this is the meat and potatoes. The new NBA.COM feature keeps you up to date with stats, injuries, milestones, awards, rumor mill etc. I think this feature is incredible now you don’t have to go through multiple screens to find info on teams or what happening in ya association cause its right in front of u now. When I created my player and started with the Knicks it felt more intimate than ever before, players talk to the press, discuss there delight or bitterness, shits crazy. I really can’t say enough about this game if you a true ball head give this game a chance fo real.
