Donnie Darko

dond011donniedarko_wideweb__470x2990For a while people have been sending emails and txt asking me about the film Donnie Darko. In the early days of HHTT we use to post heavily on the subject time travel, we may have gotten away from it a little but we still love all things time travel (John Titor, whats up bee!) A couple of weeks ago I decided to sit down and watch the film Donnie Darko and I have to say it was an experience unparalleled. Donnie Darko is a physiological thriller about a troubled kid set in the late 1980’s. Donnie ends up meeting a 6 foot bunny named Frank who tells him in 28 days, 6 hours, 42 minutes and 12 seconds, the world will end. From that point the movie picks up rapidly, I’m not going to let too much info out because this is a film that is needed to be seen fo real. Donnie Darko deals with many strong themes but still keeps a humorous balance. One of my favorite parts is when Donnie is going to school, he hops off the back of the bus with his boys and the song “Head Over Heels” by Tears for Fears comes on , the way the song matches the visuals is flawless. The movie closes with a song that stays with me to this day called “Mad World”, The song just fits perfectly, from the chilling piano to the abstract vocals it brings the ending of this movie together perfectly. The film truly captures the 80’s well from music to fashion and also deals heavily with the rules of time travel. Donnie Darko is a film I will never forget, and is easily in my top 3 of all time.

This is the Tears for fears joint to Donnie Darko, pure sickness. And of course the somber classic mad world
